Hard
to believe but its been almost a year since me and my two buddies
Tony and Paul decided to launch our own Movember campaign (which
raised just short of £300). Well its almost time to start the
fundraising again and this year we hope to do even better and have
even more sponsors to raise awareness of the very serious issue of
Prostate Cancer.
Having
had relatives who have suffered with this terrible condition I have
seen first hand how it can affect both the person involved and all
those around them. I know everyone raises money for one type of
cancer or another these days but because I am unable to take part in
physical challenges such as walks or bungee jumps etc... I like to
think this is both a practical and fun way to raise awareness.
I
shall once again be doing most of the stuff through Facebook and
other social media and no doubt by the end of November people will be
tired of my continual daily posts regrading Prostate Cancer and the
statistics involved.
On a
lighter note. All is good here in Blackpool and I have to say
that lately we have had some strange and often bizarre spells of
weather. One minute the sun is shining and we are shielding our
eyes from the blinding rays and the next we are heading indoors
because its pouring it down and there are rumbles of thunder
overhead. I have to say that in some ways we are quite lucky as
a lot of the UK and elsewhere in the world have been hit with
torrential rain and horrendous storms. Thoughts go out to
anyone caught in these or experiencing them.
Not a
lot happening here at the minute although we are preparing for a week
visit from my sister Mandi and our Nephew Oliver (I am being dragged
to the Liverpool shop at Liverpool One shopping centre
again........). I know before you say it, i really do have a
hard life and your heart bleeds for me (You mean it doesnt?)...Oh ok
then.......................lol
Should
be a good week and looking forward to discussing the latest Liverpool
news with Oliver, who I have converted from a die hard Stoke fan to a
Liverpool fanatic, much to the chagrin of his mum and
dad........................lol.........................YNWA he he he
We
decided to watch an erm.....movie the other night. The reason
for the erm is because the so called movie is called Sharknado and
its definitely different to say the least. Its a disaster film
(in more ways than one) and the acting !!!! leaves a lot to be
desired. We only got ten minutes in and we were already
laughing at the special effect and ludicrous plot. We have
started the second one and it looks even worse than the first. Will
let you know the final verdict................lol
Another
new poem materialized today from what is my very cluttered but
surprisingly creative mind and I am posting it here today.
Will
post again in a few days so you all have a good few days and what
ever you do...............enjoy it and keep smiling.. :)
