Day 22 of my 31 day horror film binge.  Not what I expected.  The Ruins

How this started I had the impression it was going to be a familiar story.  Four Americans on holiday in Mexico, stranger offers to take them to some ruins, mad doctor is about, organ harvesting commences.  I was so wrong.  It starts out this way with a German tourist offering to take the four Americans to some ruins that his brothers girlfriend is apparently excavating.  When they get there they are forced at gunpoint to not leave the ruins.  They have to stay on top of the ruins and whilst they are there they realise the true horror of their situation.  Try to escape and die, stay where you are and die.  As the story comes to its conclusion it becomes apparent why they are not allowed to leave.  A good watch with a few recognisable faces.  There were one or two moments when I found myself laughing and If you watch this then it wont take you too long to figure out why.  I would give it 6 out of 10 for the way it was filmed and the scenery.
