Tomorrow

Just thought I would drop a few lines about the last few days.  Cant say too much exciting has happened but sitting here has given me the chance to listen to a lot of music.  Made the mistake of going to thats entertainment again the other day..................lol

Seriously i could go in there with £150 and come out skint (but with a pile of cd's and dvd's).  Picked up some more albums including several cd's just called The Album (usually contain groups like Oasis, The Killers, Doves, Ash, Nickelback etc.....).  Also got the Snow Patrol cd Up to Now (double cd with their greatest hits on it).  Got the double cd of UB40 (Labour of Love 1 and 2).  Another Green Day cd to add to my collection (21st Century Breakdown).  Lots of good music there.  Also got Shine 8 and 10 (another indie compilation series that i collect).  I just need Shine 1-4 now to complete the full set.

TV wise we finished watching the first 13 episodes of Bones Season 7 and have now started watching a series that was recommended to us (Sarah our sis).  Its called Harper's Island and its kind of a murder mystery centering on an island and a wedding.  Seen two episodes so far and its got me intrigued.

Tomorrow I go for my procedure (Gastroscopy) and hopefully will finally find out what is causing the constant vomiting and nausea that i have been feeling for what seems like years.  Fingers crossed.

A Not A Lot Week

Well since my hospital trip last Saturday I have been told to take it easy for a few days, so not really a lot has happened.  I have been watching more dvd's than usual and also been listening to a lot more music too.  One piece of semi-good news is that I have had my appointment through for my Gastroscopy (its next Thursday at 1.00pm).  I am kind of glad but kind of nervous at the same time, if you know what I mean.

Had to cut down on a lot of food stuffs as didnt want to aggrevate it (if it is an ulcer...not sure).

Ok here are a few of the movies and cd;'s from this week.

Kaiser Chiefs - Employment - - A great cd and I dont think that there is a bad song on it.  Some really catchy songs that are easy to sing along to including the very addictive I predict a Riot and Oh My God.  All in all i would give this a 9 out of 10.

The Rasmus - Dead Letters - - Not everyone's cup of tea but I have a liking for The Rasmus and its nice to own one of their cd's.  Some really heavy tracks including the popular In The Shadows, but for me the best track is The Funeral Song which is deep meaningful song with excellent lyrics and a nice melodic sound.  I would give this an 8 out of 10.

Various - Pure Moods - - One of the best compilations of mood music with artists such as Jarre, Vangelis, Oldfield and Enigma.  Very relaxing and calming.  I would give this an 8 out of 10.

Chicane - The Best of - - Some really good dance tunes and very good guest singers including Tom Jones, Natasha Bedingfield and Bryan Adams.  This cd covers everything from their early years to the present day.  Well worth a listen.  I would give it a 8 out of 10.

Meat Loaf - The Very Best of - - Well for any fan this is the ultimate package.  It contains all the classics from Bat out of Hell to Life is a Lemon.  The good thing about this compilation is it also includes a few of his less well know songs such as Is Nothing Sacred and A Kiss is a Terrible Thing to Waste.  Thoroughly enjoyable and some of the songs take me back years.  I would give it a 10 out of 10.

Kelly Clarkson - Stronger - - This one was more for Deb than me but after listening to it I realise what an awesome album it is.  She manages to reach notes that seem impossible and the range and strength of her vocals is phenomenal.  Stand out tracks include the title track Stronger and the catchy Mr Know it All.  I would give this a 9 out of 10.

Now onto movies.  This week we have watched Black Sheep (totally mad film but its a car crash film because you just couldnt stop watching it).  I kind of liked it because of how ridiculous it was.  When I saw the mutant sheep all i could think of was the Spitting Image puppets (watch it and tell me I am wrong !!!!)
Also this week we watched the new Muppets Movie and It was as good as I expected.  Its a feel good film and everyone needs one of these every so often.  It was good to see that they have kept all the old favourites in (Kermit, Gonzo, Fozzy, Miss Piggy, Animal etc....) and also that they had not tried to modernize the characters.  It was also good to see them stick to the old Muppet Show style with Stadler and Waldorf making sarcastic comments and beaker taking the brunt of bad experiments.  I thought it was a classic film that will be enjoyed by all ages.  One thing left to say...........Ma-nah-Ma-nah doo doo do doo doo.  LOL

Another strange week

ok so to bring you upto date.

Its been a week since my last post and upto a certain point not a lot has happened.  Up until Friday night the week had been a 'normal' week consisting of a few days in, a couple of days out, walking the dog, talking with friends, surfing the net, playing xbox and watching dvd's.

We took my mum home on the 28th.  She really enjoyed her holiday and now she wants to move up here so we are spending a fair amount of time looking for a flat for her.

There is a new shop opened in our town centre called Thats Entertainment and its a very erm....addictive store.  They sell cd's, dvd's and games and the majority of them are what is known as 'replay' or 'second-hand'.  Now they are all guaranteed and are quality items.  They do have some new stock but these as you would expect are higher in price.  The second hand stuff varies in price from 99p each to 6 for £5.  Some of the dvd's are 3 for £5.  Some are 2.99 each etc.  They are actually online and if you are looking for some of the older cd's and dvd's then i would highly recommend them.

I managed to pick up the Rambo trilogy on Blu-Ray for £10 and they were new !!
Also got Run Fatboy Run on Blur-Ray for £3
Picked up a lot more from there and got some real good bargains.

Havent had the best of the weather for the last week and there has been intermittent sunshine, severely heavy rain, gale force winds and even some thunder and lightning (welcome to English summer.........lol)

ok so thats the normal stuff out of the way.

As i have mentioned in a previous post i have not been too well lately and the spates of dizziness and vomiting three times a day came to a head Friday night.  Early in the evening i started to get a headache and me being me waited a couple of hours to see if it would go of its own accord.  At round about the same time i also started to get a burning sensation in my chest which i again left for a couple of hours.  At about 10.00pm I decided that enough was enough and took a couple of chewable Rennie for the burning.  At 11.40pm my headache hadnt gone so i took a couple of soluble co-codamol.  We sat down to watch Surgical Spirit and as I was sitting there the burning sensation seemed to be easing and my headache slowly fading.  We went to bed at about 2.00am and I tried to lie down.  On my side it was agony so i tried to sleep on my back.  That was even worse.  I tried to hold on for as long as possible but in the end Deb called for an ambulance for me. She had wanted to straight away but i wanted to see if it would go of its own accord.  By this time i felt like my chest was on fire and that may stomach was caving in.  My first though was that i had a perforated ulcer.  Anyway an ambulance came and i was taken to the Victoria Hospital where i remained for 13 hours.  I was x-rayed, injected, drip fed and had various tests.  The good news it was not my heart.  They thought it might have been Pancreatitis (but i think this has now been ruled out).  I have got to go for something called a Gastroscopy but it is looking more and more likely that it is in fact an ulcer.  I will keep you up to date.

I am now on medication and have to take things even more easier than before.  Deb has been amazing and says no matter what it is we will get through it together.  We got home yesterday at just after 3.30pm and other than returning to the hospital at 7.30 to fetch my medication we did little else.  We watched a movie at about 9.30pm (eight legged freaks) and after it had finished at 11.00pm we turned in for the night as we were both worn out.  I cant believe it but we actually slept for over 12 hours (tired isnt the word).
