Daily Poem

This was written for my girlfriend Debbie who i have been with for almost ten years (god that woman deserves a medal................lol)

DEBBIE

As the light shines down on your auburn hair
And the face that I love smiles at me
I know all my life with you I will share
And to my heart, you hold the key
As the love inside me fills my heart
Those eyes that enraptured me from the start
You look at me and silently say
You will be with me every day

No words are needed, no words will we miss
For the message is clear each time we kiss
As you lips touched mine the sentence is said
And the message is passed from our hearts to our head
And then it is translated for our eyes to see
It tells you that I love you, and that you love me
And that message I hear every minute of the day
And I promise my heart that this feeling will stay

So take my hand, as we walk down the river
Just the slightest touch and my body does shiver
And you must feel the same for we stop and we smile
And we hug and we kiss as we stand there a while
And I look to the heavens and I thank someone somewhere
For sending an angel for me to care
For showing me that love exists for me
In the form of my true love, debbie

Wednesday 28th October

Not too bad start to the day.  No rain so that is a blessing.  Decided to go out for a couple of hours again (get sick of looking at the same fouw walls).  Only went town and it was manic, people everywhere (and it aint christmas yet).  Got some more christmas presents ordered when we got back from town so we are finally up and running.

Played some more FIFA manager 09 (no 10 comes out in 2 days woo hoooooo !!!!).  Just wanted to pass some time until the football came on.

Arsenal v Liverpool in the Carling cup and it was a really good game.  Arsenal as usual were trying to walk the ball in the net before Merida capitalised on a defensive error and hit a shot from outside the area that went in of the post.  (why is it when he did this they said it was an incredible strike but when liverpool do it we are 'lucky' that it went in?? ).  Anyway the equaliser was just as good and from a player that i dont normally associate with a strike of such quality.  Emiliano Insua is one of the brightest talents to come out of Liverpool in the last few seasons.  He is a Left back by trade (i think) and last night he was probably our most effective and dangerous player.  His equaliser was a dipping 25 yard half volley that left Fabianski clutching at thin air.  It was 1-1 at half time and apart from another defensive slip up which allowed Bendtner to score the winner we played really well and deserved something from the game.  Well done guys !!!!!!!

Daily Poem

Cry For Phantom Love

I see the moon and the stars beyond
The heavens wait for me
Heart no longer beating, no life
My soul ripped from me
A lingering kiss that I feel
Perfume smell in the air
I lie awake and I feel the tears
I cry for phantom love

She moves away from me and I am alone
Last sight I had was a white dress
She floated softly through the open window
Caressed by moonlight, escorted by stars
Brighter than the sun, softer than silk
Her skin so smooth
I cry for phantom love

I walk to where the flowers grow
In hope I will see her there waiting
And the night cries a million sounds
And all of them are meaningless to me
Was I dreaming? Was she real?
Is it possible that I saw an angel?
In my head I wonder, in my heart I know
I cry for phantom love

Tuesday 27th October

Well it was a nice morning and the wind had finally died down to a refreshing breeze.  First thing i did this morning was to ring my sister and wish my nephew Oliver a happy tenth birthday.  Wow that kid is polite.

Me.....Good morning mate and happy birthday.  How are ya !!!

His reply

Oliver......I am very well thank you Uncle Jason and how are you !!

Nobody i know is that polite (not even adults).............lol

Well the morning went and it was early afternoon when i asked Deb if she wanted to go out for a couple of hours, so we went town first and then proceeded upto my sisters.  Little Matthew was in a cool mood and very giggly and playful.  Alex (the 1 year old) was definitely not in a good mood.......lol
Chris and Brad (11 and 10 respectively) were there usual moaning selves.......Why do i have to do it?.....Why cant he do it?.......I have to do everything (Harry Enfield nowhere)

Came home and once again couldnt be bothered to even watch the football which ended Barnsley 0 Man Utd 2.  Watched another episode of Heroes before going to bed.  I have to say its very involving...

Daily Poem

Colourful world

Blue a feeling of loneliness
Not to me, it’s the sky above
Clouds float around me
Sunshine fills the sky
Clear as the ocean are my thoughts
Greys to blues in one thought
You make it a colourful world

Red is fire, angry colour
Or so they say
Not to me
Red is the colour you go when I compliment you
Red are the cheeks that glow with embarrassment
Red are the lips that I delight in kissing
You make it a colourful world

Green is envy, a very bad thing
But not in my world
Green is the grass that we sit upon
We talk and all I see is you
No envy in the eyes that I look into
You make mine a colourful world

No room in my life for negative thoughts
Pushed away in dark places
Ever to be shown the light of day
All I feel is you and the colours of your love
Reds, blues, greens,
You make it a colourful world

Monday 26th October

Not too bad weather today and the sun shone for a while (rare i can tell you).

Did our usual thing for a monday.  Got on a bus and went to Cleveleys for a couple of hours.  It makes a change but other than food we didnt buy anything, not a cd, book or dvd.  It was a very quiet and boring day today to be honest and i couldnt even bring myself to wath the evening football match which Leicester won 1-0 against Reading.  We kind of worked out what christmas presents we were getting for people later in the evening and started making plans to buy them.

Watched an Episode of Heroes before going to bed (man that is one strange series)

Daily Poem

This was the poem that i wrote the day after the best champions league final in history.

Journey to the dream

It seems like only yesterday the long journey it began
Character and strength was needed in each and every man
Begun in the qualifiers the long and worrying road
Trying to balance it with the other cups, a most precarious load

But we made it to the group stages where the real tournament took place
And it seems like pride took over and put a smile on every face
It wasn’t always easy and as usual there were tears to cry
And the results didn’t go our way sometimes and then we all would sigh

But the games progressed with faintest hopes that we could reign supreme
And with only precious minutes left reality replaced the dream
For one down at half time and needing to score three to win
Was an uphill struggle against Olympiakos but our captain saw us through to win

The joy in the faces of the fans and the team as we realised our dream
Was now lived right here with us hidden in our chants and our screams
So next stage beckoned and the games were getting harder by the day
But with steel in defence we knew our warriors would lead the way

So its Leverkusen at Anfield and the score was a fantasy I swear
But watching it was magnificent but oh how I wish I was there
3-1 the final whistle went and we started to believe the impossible
That the cup could be ours and some of the optimistic looked forward to Istanbul

But the job wasn’t done til the return leg and believe it we didn’t as 3-1 came again
We just couldn’t believe it the prospect loomed larger and we knew only eight teams did remain
Well the mighty Juventus were next and the job was well done in the first twenty minutes we came out on top
And though 2-1 at the final whistle we knew and the chance to be champions was screamed from the kop

Well the task would be completed in a hostile and impossible place to win
And though no goals were scored we held supreme and were deafened by the din
So semi finals here we come and a chance to beat the team that had beaten us in three games
Stalemate at the bridge and we had to rely on some good luck and bad misses, perhaps fate was to
Blame?

So it’s Anfield to end the semi and the goal was scored quickly or not, we will never know
But we knew that they would attack us and they did but our defence of iron was on show
Well the final whistle sounded and it took a minute to sink in I can  remember
That the final was ours we had come a long way since September

AC Milan in turkey what a finale to the competition that we had played so hard to lift
Would we conquer the mighty Italians or like the tides of the sea would we drift
Well 30,000 took their seats and couldn’t believe their eyes, three nill down at half time the game was lost
But playing for pride was the thing now no more goals conceded at any cost

But captain marvel headed home and the dream was on once more
And then when Smicer slammed the ball home we had to look twice at the score
Was this a fantasy game in our heads if that was the case it was about to get better
For Gerrard went down and Alonso took the penalty, though first saved hit the rebound by the letter

3-3 and this was madness, where had the score come from, were we imagining it, the come back was complete
But extra time came and the legs were going not a Liverpool fan was left on their seat
Sweat, tears and emotion filled us all as our bodies succumbed to the game we were seeing right here
And when Shevchenko’s header was saved and then the volley was too and then the corner was cleared

Well we knew this was it and the final was done and the result would be decided on the dreaded penalties
And with hands over eyes and cheering hopes, they missed the first two that we scored with ease
But then suddenly they scored and Riise’s was saved as Dida stretched his frame across goal
And they scored yet again and then we scored our third which meant Shevchenko had to regain control

And as he strolled to the ball and Dudek’s hand stopped the shot the crowd erupted with a breath taking roar
And for a minute just silence disbelief soon replaced by the crowd as they realised the score
Well the emotion flooded us all and the hugs and tears and the result didn’t sink in straight away
But when Gerrard lifted that cup as captain of the champions of Europe we knew that this was Liverpool’s day

Well it’s all over now but I still feel emotion for the love and respect of the best team in the land
Now Europe has been conquered there are better things to come as the future for domination is at hand

Sunday 25th October

Well the weather hasnt changed much but my mood hasnt been affected by it today.............lol

A boring morning (which Sunday usually is).  Got up at what i thought was 11.15 only to discover that i had forgotten to put my watch back an hour, though how i forgot i dont know seems i didnt go bed til 3.15am (2.15).  Didnt get many surveys today with it being sunday, in fact there is usually only one thing i do on Sunday and that is to watch football, which today was no exception.

What a game of football and a thoroughly deserved 2-0 victory against Man Utd.  The only question i have is how can we play that good today and that badly on Tuesday.  We need a bit of consistency and get a nice string of wins going because one win doesnt mean a lot on its own.  Once again Benayoun was instrumental in the first goal with a defence splitting pass which left Torres through with just Ferdinand and Van Der Sar to beat.  He used his pace and power to hold of Ferdinand before hitting a shot high past a despairing Van Der Sar from a good angle.  After that it was Man Utd that were all over us pushing for an equaliser but they never really looked like scoring (which is strange to say for Man Utd).  Vidic got sent of for two yellow cards and a few minutes from the end so did Mascherano.  Man Utd pushed forward and got hit on the counter with a sucker punch of a goal.  Great play in midfield allowed Dirk Kuyt to play a pass out to Ngog who went one on one with Van Der Sar and cooly slotted the ball into the bottom corner of the goal.  A very happy Liverpool fan i am today and i just hope we can keep it going..........

Daily Poem

Cold Sheets

The place where you used to lie
Nothing there now, nothing but space
And I wrap them around me to seek warmth
I need to hide from these cold sheets

Turning over I picture you
The way your hair lay softly on your pillow
The way your closed eyes moved in a dreamlike trance
And I remember you
And now all I have are cold sheets

Tears fall from my eyes like memories
Dreams of what was is no more
And I look to the ceiling and wonder
What now, where do I go from here
And there is no comfort in these cold sheets

The memories turn my mind to slush
As the rain that is here once again chills me
The wind howls in my mind and screams of anguish escape me
But there is no peace for me this night
I seek solace in these cold sheets

Saturday 24th October

Okay so it was a false hope.  The weather is worse today than its been in a long time.  The rain is lashing down and the wind is blowing a gale outside.  I am so glad that we went out yesterday and that i have no reason at all to venture out of the door today.

I havent made up my mind yet what i am going to do with the rest of the day as there are a lot of things i could do but not much i feel like doing.........lol

Got some post today and its official i have now brought my first christmas present.........wooooohooooo

Daily Poem

Burning Circle

It goes round, ever turning
I have felt it all my life
At different times
At different stages
It’s a circle, ever burning

At first I burned with innocence
Always wanting to live
Burning with a desire
To be someone, somewhere
And I burned

Then I burned with romance
I found my first love
Or did it find me
Strange how I can’t remember
I burned with love

Next I learned to burn with rage
Cheated on, deceived
Red eyed demon that engulfed me
I burned then, oh yes
With such a fire

Now it’s a new fire that burns in me
It’s a love like nothing I have felt
It’s a felling of immense joy
This fire I welcome
It burns and I am happy

Friday 23rd October

Well the weather seemed to have made a marked attempt at improvement and even the sun has made an appearance.  Another day another half a dollar eh ..

Went Morrisons for a good look around and almost ended up treating myself to Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 (or PES 2010 as its now known).  I weighed up the pro's and cons and although they were selling it at £32.99 (compared to £34.99 to £39.99 in town) i decided against it as i know i can get it on the internet for under £30.  I know i am only saving three or four pound but every little helps (sorry Tesco).

Had a little look around the town centre but there wasnt much occuring.

In the evening we decided to look into going to the christmas circus at Blackpool Tower and thought it would make a nice treat to take my mum with us (she always comes up for the two week christmas period).  So i went online and got it all sorted, ordered and paid for in about fifteen minutes (isnt the internet a wonderful place)........lol.  So its all booked and the tickets will be here soon (hopefully he says with fingers crossed).

Daily Poem

Been there, done that

Do you know someone who irritates?
Someone who on your nerves grates
Suicide do they make you contemplate
These people that have been there, done that

When you talk to them do they
Not listen to a word you say?
And try to steal the very day
With the words been there done that

And no matter what you do
They have done it and better to
And tell you things you know aren’t true
You can guarantee they have been there and done that

If you’ve won a car lets say
They will have won one yesterday
And be driving round in it today
Because they have been there and done that

And what about the latest gadget
By the time you own it you can bet that they have had it
And they always show off, sad isn’t it
These people that have been there and don’t that

Every time you say something new
Something that Is good for you
They will spoil it and in a grand way too
By saying ‘been there done that’

So next time when the need to kill
Is a sweet remedy for the bitter pill
And even if you died you can bet they will
Have been there and done that too

Thursday 22nd October

yes yes i know i am two days late but i havent exactly been in the best frame of mind for writing a blog for some reason i cant fathom.  Maybe its the weather, who knows.

Well today i didnt do much to be honest.  I went town and got some stuff we needed, came back home did a little housework and that was it until the evening when we watched a clever 'horror' film call The Echo.  Its a good film and highly recommended if u like the 'grudge' or 'ring' type of japanese inspired films.  Its in English and there are no subs or dubbing so dont panic..........lol

We also watched the next couple of episodes of 'Fringe' which again i would highly recommend to all you people who like a program that is a bit 'different'.  If you watch it you will know what i mean.....

Daily Poem

Because I Want To Live

No knife, no gun, not physical
But you killed me, in your way
They say sticks and stones can break your bones
But words can maim and crucify you
Blind me with accusations
And then wonder why I cry
Deviate from my life for a second
Don’t be there when you want me
I need to live too

Choices made, but are they the right ones
Will I have to remember the pain
Or will the good times out play your game
Am I a pawn in your fantasy
Or are you there to test me
Well if that is the case
I will pass
Because I need to live too

Take your hurt and your destructive influence
Move it away from me
I don’t need it and I don’t want it
Maybe you will find another fool
But this one is rebelling
I want my life back
And I am taking it
Because I want to live
And I am going to live

Wednesday 21st October

Well today was your typical mid-October day.  The sky was blue, the sun was fighting a losing battle with the cloud cover, the birds were singing and.............it was bloody cold.

Went to visit my sister today and Deb ended up spending most of the time watching Thomas the Tank Engine with out two year old nephew Matthew.  She couldnt escape and i though it was hilarious............lol
Also saw our youngest nephew Alex who is getting bigger each time we see him and has now discovered that he can move a great distance by either, rolling from his stomach to his back and back again or by staying on his stomach and edging forward using his arms as leverage (kind of like a sniper without the rifle).

Got back a couple of hours ago and put the heating on straight away as it was even colder in the house than it was outside.

Dont ask me what happened last night to my Liverpool team !!!!!!!  I can honestly say i have never seen tactics like it and we did get what the manager (not the team) deserved.  I thought Benayoun played really well and was our best player on the night (Kelly did have a good game though).  It was a shame to see that Stevie had to go off so soon but i suppose they were thinking of Sundays game against Man U.  Ngog had a nightmare game and apart from piece of class seemed out of his depth so i was more than a little surprised to see him stay on for the full 90 minutes.  So its another defeat and the result only goes to show our lack of depth when injuries strike (we really do need another world class striker).

Daily Poem

Autumn Metamorphosis

I turn my collar as i walk
The wind sings a different tune to me
As the clouds carry it away
The breeze gathers pace
I walk faster though not by choice
And the grey clouds mark my course

I have noticed the view from my window
I can see further now than a month ago
The trees and bushes are shedding their clothing
And making a window of autumn for me
The greens have become brown and fall like a carpet
I walk on them and they crunch in resignation

Children hurry past me now
Home to where the heat welcomes them
Like a trusted friend it waits
Dark nights welcome me earlier too
Moonlight reflects from newly formed puddles of rain
More is in the air
I feel it as i walk

Seasons come and go and autumn is here
Transforming the landscape to a barren place
The naked branches throw their arms up as another breeze blows
And yet more leaves resign themselves to its might
They swirl around my feet and legs
A myriad of colours
A carpet of rainbow

The cold is here and i see my breath

Tuesday 20th October

Wowowowowow what a surprise when i woke this morning.........the weather was even worse than yesterday (and as i write this its throwing it down with rain and a gale is blowing).

Had to nip out earlier to post a birthday card for one of my mates (James).  Birthday boy on thursday (he will be 32 if my maths is correct).  Have know him for erm..........about 20 years.  He was captain of the football team i used to play in and manage.  I wasnt the best footballer in the world i can tell you, but if i went in for a tackle people usually got out of the way because if i didnt get the ball then i was sure as hell to get the man.........lol
James on the other hand was a natural.  He was a gifted footballer with a lot of class and a shot like a rocket and i believe if he had taken it further he could have made it in the football world.  I arent talking Steven Gerrard or David Beckham class here dont get me wrong, but i am sure he could have been someone.

Well its late afternoon and i am looking forward and counting down the hours until the football starts.  Liverpool v Olympic Lyonaisse (or Lyon).  Been looking at the odds in the bookies and they have us to win 3-0 !!!!!!!!!!!!  This will surprise me because i know that they are a class team with some amazing players so i dont think its going to be that sort of stroll for us.

Apart from that i havent got that much planned for the rest of the day.  Done several more surveys today and cleared all the junk out of my email (which didnt leave much).

Daily Poem

Almost time

The days since we spoke seem to have flown
And yet they have dragged on if that makes sense
Meals which were tasty now seem to be stale
Water it refreshes me not, strange world
Your voice on the phone and I hear it then for hours
Thinking of you, wanting to be with you
Wondering what it will be like when we meet
Will I make a fool of myself, wow what a thought?

Probably drop something in the café where we are meeting
Spill drink down me, oh man the embarrassment
What a beautiful introduction that would be
Me standing up and a wet patch on my trousers
Must not think like that, it will be a good day
Sorted out the transport, know where I am going
Wonder if you will like me when at last we meet
All questions, but as yet no answers

Almost time and I am sitting here waiting
My mind wonders aimlessly to the décor on the walls
And then I hear a voice say ‘hello’ and suddenly
I know that the mystery is almost over
I turn and there you stand, more beauty than I have seen
Your voice so soft and gentle, a whisper on the breeze
And although that first glance is mere seconds
I know that you are the one I have waited for

Monday 19th October

Well i definitely think that nice (or even semi-nice) weather has been privatised because once again the weather here is horrible, cold, windy, wet (do i get a feeling of deja-vu ??)

Going out in a little while, more for a bit of fresh air than anything.  I didnt end up watching the Wigan v Man City game yesterday as i decided to listen to some music cd's and have a chilling afternoon.  I listened to two a-ha cd's, one within temptation cd, one lasgo cd, and one scooter cd (varied eh ?)

All in all a good choice from subtle pop rock to goth metal, from dance to hardcore.  Change the mood, change the music is what i say.  Didnt watch any TV last night so i cant give an opinion on Heroes.  I just ended up listening to music and playing my manager game.  Hopefully tomorrow will bring better weather so we can get our for a bit longer................fingers crossed !!!!!

Daily Poem

All In My Heart

I took the words you wrote to me
Each letter that you had sent
I read and then read them once more
And the words were imprinted on my heart
I took the smile that I remembered
The one you gave me when we first met
The one that melted me to nothing
And placed it in my heart

I felt the hand that I first touched that day
And the feelings it gave me inside
That soft embrace as you held me close
And held it in my heart
I tasted our first kiss, so warm and true
As our lips met for that unique moment
The way my heart melted like snow
And I felt it go to my heart

I opened my heart today to your love
Heard the words that you had written
Saw the smile appear on your face
Felt the warmth of your touch as we walked
Fell into that first special kiss

All in my heart

Sunday 18th October

Ok so i am even later today doing my blog............

Well last night wasnt exactly a thillorama night.  I watched the Nottingham Forest v Newcastle game which ended 1-0 to forest (though a draw might have been a fairer result).  Watched some Spanish football, some German football and some Italian Football, then finished the night with the last episode of series 4 of Blue Murder (so thats that finished now).  We are starting watching the first season of Heroes tonight (highly recommended to us).

Well there is always controversy on the football pitch every week and yesterday it was my own team that were involved.  Darren Bent hit a shot, which Pepe Reina had covered, however the ball hit a balloon and deflected past Reina.  The referee allowed the goal to stand even though its stated that 'any outside influence' that interferes with play is not allowed (Helloooooooooooo it was a balloon / ball)  These referees aint a clue what they are doing !!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got back from a friends house where i have been sorting out their pc problems.  I am pleased to say that all is present and correct now (so to speak).  One problem was how to allow programs to run using administrator rights on vista (not too bad).  The other one was about signal strength for a dongle.  (again not too bad)

Well the weather is nothing short of horrible here today.  Its cold, its windy and its raining that horrible drizzle that soaks you in seconds (just been to the local corner shop so i know).

What to do with the afternoon.......watch football i suppose.....Blackburn v Burnley then Wigan v Man City (arent sure about them yet)

Daily Poem

A Week Of Dreams

Monday I dreamt of flying high and free
The clouds rolled by and the sun shone down on me
The birds flew with me and I followed their course
And I opened my eyes on a new day

Tuesday I dreamt I was swimming oceans so blue
The current was carrying me further and further
My body tried to keep me afloat but failed
I was drowning and the sunlight woke me once more

Wednesday I was a living flame, searing, scorching
Everything I touched burned and blackened
Smoldering ash surrounded me and yet still I burned
The heat made me wince and I woke to a cool room

Thursday my dream was strange for I was alone
I walked down streets I recognized but didn’t know
I saw people looking at me through eyes of knowing
It made me scared and I woke in tears

Friday I dreamt I was in a crowd, not moving just staying
No sound could be heard and the silence deafened me
Everyone looked the same except one face I couldn’t quite see
I tried to move toward it but again my eyes betrayed my sleep

Saturday I tried to figure out what my week of dreams meant
The flying I think is the feeling I get when I see you
The drowning is the way I feel when you tell me you love me
The burning is your touch that enflames me from within

I know I was alone and feeling insecure until the day we met
I felt like an alien in a world of people, strange and unfriendly
You were the stranger in the crowd I could not quite reach
And now you are here with me all the crowds disappear

I reach for you when I wake and I know I need dream no more

Saturday 17th October

Wow is it cold this morning.......

Well a recap on last night...............did nothing..............quick eh ...LOL

Well not entirely true, finished sorting my pc, played some more manager game, had food, drank, watched blue murder, went bed.   Not much like i said.

Today? Well its Saturday which usually means i spend most of the day watching my favourite sport (namely football or soccer if you are american (to avoid confusion)), but after seeing the games that are being televised this weekend it wont be too difficult to miss them if the opportunity arises.  My beloved Liverpool are away to Sunderland today and that isnt something i am too hopeful over after how Sunderland played against Man Utd last time out.

I might decide today to finally write some more of the fantasy novel i started about 18 months ago and have never got around to finishing.  Nearly 180 pages in and i get writers block.......lol

Its the same outside as yesterday, blue sky but cold.  The only difference today is its also cold inside.

Done all my email and as per usual on a Saturday i had about ten or eleven surveys to do (which are now done thankfully) and that usually is it for the weekend as i dont tend to get many after Saturday mornings.

I might start writing little reviews on here, games i have played, films i have seen, music i have listened to etc.....

Daily Poem

A Shared Dream

When the dark reaches out like an abusive hand
And the world doesn’t seem such a friendly place
Call my name, hear my voice and I will be there
When you need someone to hold onto
In a world that is crumbling at your feet
I will be the one that thinks like you do
And I will share your dreams

As you walk down the street seeing despair
Growing from the path and reaching high and wide
In the eyes of those that beg for money
Are tears that you hoped you would never see
And your heart will think this world a bad place
Open your eyes from the nightmare
And share your dreams with me

Its a world where hope washes away
Like tears in the rain it will dissolve
And grief is the word on all the lips that try to speak
Where has the world that you once knew gone?
Are you there to face it on your own?
Dont ever fear that your world is over
Share your dreams with me

You want to see a world where people still cry
But the only tears are ones of joy not pain
Where wars are not fought and lives not taken
Where nations smile at each other
Without hiding from the prejudice
It’s not too much a thing to want
I want it too
Share your dreams with me

Friday 16th October

Lazy today i am sorry to say, didnt get up until 10.30 (my fault for having a night of movies and dvd's).

Its been a strange kind of day.  Do you know one of those days where you dont really know what you feel like doing and when you do something you are bored after ten minutes???   Well today is mine !!!

The only thing that has kept me busy is surveys and i must have done about a dozen or so already today.
The sky outside gives me the wrong perception of what the day is like.  A lovely clear blue sky so i walked out onto the decking..........................Wow did i come in quick..........Cold aint the word brrrrrrr !!

So i decided to stay in and sort through my PC (which has more useless stuff on that i would have guessed).  Lots of half written poems and songs that i cant even remember writing !!  Save game files from games i completed and uninstalled months ago.  Several hundred setup files from programs i no longer use and best of all nine lots of graphics drivers for a graphics card i havent had since last year.  Oh the Joy.

I didnt end up playing FIFA 2010 yesterday so i am unable to give my views and opinions on it, but stay tuned and i will get around to it in the near future.  Its not my fault, its FIFA manager 2009 (its so addictive)    LOL

Hope you are enjoying the blog so far.

A Dream ??

And the devils they came, in coaches of flame
To devour the flesh of the living
To destroy all the people that walked on the earth
The kind, the good and the giving

And as they rode, they destroyed and the land it burned
And the flames grew higher and higher
And the burning smell of the skin and the flesh
Made a mountain, a funeral pyre

And pestilence wrought the world with disease
As plague after plague they came
And the people they writhed in the agonies of pain
As each sought another to blame

For the world was ending, in death and decay
And the evil had won the war
And questions went unanswered, and prayers unheard
As the earth suffered like never before

Foul creatures they came, with a liking for pain
And a yearning to hear mankind cry
And they appeared to grin as they reveled in sin
And watched as the people did die

As I woke from the dream with tears in my eyes
I heard a sound like never before
I opened the curtains and peered into the day
And could not believe what I saw

There were creatures I hoped I never would see
There were devils clothed In the skin of the dead
A grotesque parody of man clawed at the glass
As a creature scythed of his head

A woman she screamed as the devils bore down
And others they cowered in fear
But the cries of the devils and the creatures they brought
Were the only sounds I could hear

I told myself quickly that It was just a dream
As the walls around me crumbled and fell
Then the reality hit me like a lightning strike
The earth had really become hell

The flames they were real and the devils were too
The street was full of people ablaze
And I said a prayer as I felt the heat touch my flesh
And said goodbye to the rest of my days

Thursday 15th October

Well another day another half a dollar........lol

First let me tell you what i ended up doing yesterday ......be prepared because this is exciting.......................drum roll.....................I went to Morrisons (I know you cant contain your excitement)

And other than going to see my sister (as it is my nephew shaun's 22nd birthday today) all i did last night was watched the England match on ITV1. I must admit thought it was a good game and a deserved victory for us although credit to Belarus they did almost unlock our defence once or twice. Good old reliable Peter Crouch got two of the goals (first one was debatable) and Shaun Wright-Phillips got the other (we also managed to hit both posts in two minutes as well). But all in all we can go to South Africa 2010 with a lot of pride and hope for the future of our world cup ambitions.......come on England !!!!

I did manage to squeeze another episode of Blue Murder in before i gave up the ghost and retired for the night.

As for today well its a day in for me. Nipped around the local shop earlier for a couple of odd items and when i got back i swept the decking and fed the squirrels, now its just a chill day although i might decide to try out FIFA 2010 as my nephew borrowed it me for the X-box 360 yesterday. I will let you know what i think of it later (if i end up playing it)

Daily Poem

Drowning World

The world is drowning in a sea of tears
We use our phobias and our fears
To create a world where no one lives
Where pain is all we tend to give

The smiles just fade like evening sun
We let ignorance replace what’s done
It’s no use crying when the game is lost
So we have our victory but at what cost

The sun it shines down on a barren land
Where bones protrude from skeletal hands
Where flies the time and what holds true
Why bother with ignorance when there is you

There is no future if we can’t hold the past
There’s only pain and that will last
For what a legacy we leave for those behind
When we leave this world to another kind

Lets hope they learn from what we are
That they see the heavens, not just the stars
For the lease is ours but good tenants we are not
Lets hope they remember what we have forgot

That we don’t own this earth and that is the truth
Its something we learn in the days of our youth
But it just seems to fade, and the memories hide
And they only comeback with the tears that we’ve cried

As the water it flows to soak in the earth
To return to the soil the place of our birth
Do they rise to the clouds like birds to the sky?
And the heavens welcome them with an audible sigh

So let the earth cry for what do we care
We will not live forever, we will not always be there
But remember the future will be there no matter what
For our children and theirs or have you forgot

Wednesday 14th October

Wednesday morning and the weather isnt brilliant although we are still having a saunter into the local town. I think its a good idea before the weather gets that bad that our mind is made up for us each morning.

Last night didnt do a lot.... finished some more of the manger game i told you about in previous post and watched a couple of hours of a series called 'blue murder' (uk cop series starring Caroline Quentin). Again highly recommended.

Good thing about manager games is that you can listen to your own mp3's while playing it. As you can see from my profile i have a varied taste in music but one of the groups i listen to has a new video and single out soon called 'utopia'. Here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEIvlihb2Ms&fmt=22 try it and see what u think...

Daily Poem

As one of my many hobbies and foibles is poetry i shall be posting a poem a day on here for people to (hopefully enjoy) and maybe reach a place of sensitivity, humour or relation.

todays poem is

Knowing

I can never hold
I will never touch yo
I can never kiss you
I will always wonder what it would be like
I sit here and dream of knowing

I will never walk with you
I will never hold your hand
I will never hear your problems
And hold you and understand
I stand here in the rain dream of knowing

To touch you
To hold you
To kiss you
To be loved by you
I am always wondering what it would be like
Oh the pain of not knowing

Tuesday 13th October

Well if ever i needed a sign that summer was finally over its here. The sun has definitely gone AWOl and the sky is such a dark colour that i have to remind myself that it is 11.20am here and not the middle of the night.

What am i doing today?? Good question and the answer at the moment is no idea !!!!!!!!!

Maybe watch some of the many dvd's we have been accumulating over the last year or so (that will keep me busy until doomsday).

Although being a gamer the day for me is filled with choices

1. Do i become the worlds best footballer and rule the world
2. Do i become the worlds best football manager and rule the world
3. Do i load fallout 3 and try and rebuild the world
4. Do i play mass effect and live in a future world

As you can see, infinite possibilities.

The day is mine he he he he

added Wednesday morning.

Ok so i decided to become a manager and rule the world...........lol

A great game called fifa manager 09 (great for all you budding ferguson's, benitez's and wengers). Highly recommended
