Two posts on the same day.....lol

Thought I would just tell you about some of the films I have watched, the music I have listened to and the games I have played over the last few weeks.

Each film has a rating of stars            * = poor
                                                    ** = fair
                                                  *** = watchable
                                                **** = good
                                              ***** = excellent

The first film I would say was better than I heard.  Pirates of the Caribbean 4 On Stranger Tides starring Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, Jeffery Rush and Ian Mcshane.  I thought it was good enough to be a Pirates film though it was definitely missing the characters played by Orlando Bloom and Kiera Knightley (Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann).  Ian Mcshane was very good as Blackbeard and there were a few moments of humour but it was definitely missing the rapport between the three main characters from the first three movies.  No ship battles in this one which again was a change from the others but the chase scenes and fights were well done and very cleverly carried out.  ***

The second film is another Johnny Depp film (Deb is a big fan.....lol).  The Tourist is basically a very clever thriller of sorts also starring Angelina Jolie.  Its basically a 'wrong place wrong time' movie.  Good fight scenes and a good edge of the seat film with a few twists along the way.  Also stars Steven Berkoff as the villain (for a change).  ***

A film I saw on my own is Fifty Dead Men Walking.  A very good film based on a true story about a man in Belfast who was recruited to spy on the IRA.  Its a violent film in places but because of its subject matter thats to be expected.  It stars Jim Sturgess as the lead role and also has good supporting cast of Ben Kingsley, Rose Mcgowan and Kevin Zegers.  ****

The next film I will rate is called The Adustment Bureau.  Its a very complicated film about making sure that certain people meet and that events happen in the order that they are supposed to.  There are people who are there to make sure that these events occur.  However when Matt Damon meets someone he isnt supposed to he sets into motion a string of events that change his life forever.  Also stars Emily Blunt.  ****

The last film I will rate for now is the only horror here and its called Insidious.  It seems like a standard haunted house film where a family find that the new house they are occupying is haunted.  It seems to be going one way but then it changes direction altogether and takes you to a much darker place entirely.  Stars Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne.  ****
