Wouldnt have bet on those scores !!!!!!!

Well what a strange day.  I dont mean my day, that went ok.  I mean what strange and unforseen events in sport.

First of all a death in the Moto GP.  Sad day for the racing world as it lost one of its hottest prospects Marco Simoncelli age 24.  He died during the first lap of the Malaysian Grand Prix.  RIP

The afternoon started with the first of two incredible football matches that I had the pleasure of seeing.  The first was the eagerly anticipated Manchester derby between United and City.  United the dominant force in English football for the last two decades and City the money men (basically can buy anyone they want, which I believe is ruining football, but thats for another debate).  Well it started of ok both teams testing each other in possession and even though United had a lot of early posession they never really looked like penetrating the City Defence and so it came as no surprise when City went in front through a neat finish from Mario Balotelli.  At half time the score was 1-0 and it could still have gone either way.  Second half had only just started when for some reason known only to himself Jonny Evans fell asleep (at least I think he did).  He waited until Balotelli had walked past him and then decided to haul the Italian down, instant red card no arguing.  After that City made the extra man count time and time again, although credit to United they never stopped attacking.  Balotelli scored again soon after and when Aguero added a third it looked to be all over.  United are made of resilient stuff and it was the best move and goal of the game that brought United back to 3-1 with a curling 20 yard effort from Darren Fletcher.  United tried to get another but they were tiring and this was evident as sub Edin Dzeko scored two and David Silva added another to end the game Manchester United 1 - 6 Manchester City

Ok so this set the scene for the second game where QPR were home to Chelsea.  As this was the later kick off Chelsea knew that this was a chance to claw back points on United.  Game started ok with both teams playing some good attacking football.  Early penalty for QPR saw them take an early lead and after that Chelsea started to really attack.  It was on the counter that a ball was played down the left channel and Shaun Wright-Philips and Jose Bosingwa ran together with the ball, both hauled each other to the ground but for some reason (home advantage I think), the referee deemed that Bosingwa had committed the foul and that he was the last man so he showed him the red card.  I am not a Chelsea fan but there is no way that it was a sending off offence.  The second one definitely was though.  Still first half and now QPR are pressing and the ball rolls loose near the halfway line, along comes Didier Drogba and for some strange reason dives in with both feet, studs showing.  Instant red card no question.  1-0 at half time.  Second half and credit to Chelsea they didnt give up and created a lot of decent chances.  I was surprised at QPR not attacking more, they seemed content to stick with 1-0 which was a bit disappointing.  It ended 1-0 and the referee went card happy booking at least 9 players (could have been more).

In the evening I did some writing while Deb watched X-factor.  After it had finished we decided to watch Attack the Block.  I was a bit wary at first and thought it was going to be a spoof alien movie, boy was I in for a pleasant surprise.  Its a pretty good alien horror film with some good performances, namely from Jodie Whittaker and John Boyega.  Some cool special effects and just the right amount of gore.  I would rate it **** (4 star)

After that we watched the new Jeff Dunham show called Controlled Chaos.  Not bad but for me not as funny as his earlier shows.  He had his usual puppets Peanut (Debs favourite), Achmed (everyones favourite) and Walter (my favourite ('get your shit and get out....oh and have a nice day')).  New puppet in the shape of Achmed Junior but still missing something.  *** (3 stars)

Didnt read when went bed. too tired.
